The Social Network won top prizes at the 31st London Film Critics Circle Awards on Thursday for Film of the Year and Director of the Year for the film’s director, David Fincher. Aaron Sorkin was also named Screenwriter of the Year and Andrew Garfield, who portrayed Eduardo Saverin in the movie, won the award for British Actor in a Supporting Role.
The King’s Speech, who received the most nominations at 12, received honors for British Film of the Year, Tom Hooper as British Director of the Year, and Actor of the Year for Colin Firth‘s turn as the king.
Annette Bening was named Best Actress for her role in The Kids Are All Right. Other acting honors went to Christian Bale in The Fighter for British Actor of the Year, Lesley Manville in Another Year for British Actress of the Year, and Olivia Williams in The Ghost Writer for British Actress in a Supporting Role.
